Mould design and fabrication

Design and fabrication of the moulds into which the GRC is either cast or sprayed is a key to the successful manufacture of GRC products. Much of our senior in-house talent and expertise is occupied with the design, engineering and manufacture of moulds in the most cost effective and timely manner. Moulds can typically be made from a variety of materials such as MDF, Plywood, Steel, Fibreglass and Polyurethane rubber or a combination of one or all of these materials and we can advise on the most appropriate material and technique for your project.

Careful consideration is taken to design the mould in the most appropriate material suitable for each project or application eg a single use one-off product will likely have a mould made using low cost material such as MDF whereas a mass produced product may require a mould to be made in fibreglass with a PUR rubber liner that can be used many 100’s of times.
