The Vision

Located in Herne Bay, 139 Jervois Road required a facade solution that blended architectural boldness with refinement. Designed by Monk Mackenzie, the building features a unique and striking zig-zag dynamic facade. To bring this complex vision to life without compromising on structural efficiency or aesthetic accuracy, prefabricated GRC was selected as the ideal substrate.

The Solution

Liquidstone engineered and manufactured the intricate zig-zag GRC facade panels entirely in-house. Taking the off-site fabrication process a step further, a beautiful French limestone brick slip surface was precise-tiled onto the GRC panels directly within our factory environment.

The Outcome

By applying the French limestone brick slips off-site at Liquidstone’s factory, the project achieved a exceptionally high standard of precision while significantly reducing site labor, complexity, and installation time. The resulting facade delivers a seamless, gorgeous finish that beautifully captures Monk Mackenzie’s design intent—combining the structural advantages and lightweight versatility of GRC with the timeless elegance of natural limestone.
